The position will also need to work with a primary mindset to promote safe working standards, both personally and with colleagues and clients. • Provide on-site diagnostics and technical support for the company’s front-line assets across the region, reducing dependency and call-outs from OEM partners.
  • Monitor asset compliance to improve preventative maintenance, including areas such as brake testing, LOLER’s, and 6 weekly inspections.
  • Engage with Head Office maintenance department to ensure asset reminders and compliance are followed and ensure a swift close-out of all repair and service jobs.
  • Supervise and monitor wear components (Tyres, GET, UC, etc.) across the region.
  • Carry out on-site repairs, when required, to aid repair timelines for breakdowns and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to safe working practices, including dynamic risk assessments and method statements prior to starting any work.
  • Actively engage in training and development with OEM partners to further develop both your and the department’s capabilities.
  • Utilise IT systems to complete repair or service paperwork, diagnose assets, and complete asset inspections.
  • Liaise with local suppliers, customers, and OEMs to ensure swift close-out of any jobs.
Job Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant, with training or experience at a major manufacturer preferred, but not essential.
  • Consistent and proactive approach to safety, in line with the company’s core ethos, safety principles, and culture.
  • Experience and knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures, including use of laptops for fault finding. Training will be provided, where necessary.
  • The ideal candidate would have formal experience in plant maintenance such as NVQ level 3 / city and guilds or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge around the mechanical, electrical & technical components of quarrying and mining assets.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
  • Good organisational and mentoring skills.

The position comes with a competitive remuneration package, including the option of overtime. Please submit all applications to recruitment@chepstowplant.com.
