Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Chepstow Plant International Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Regional Field Service Engineer to join their team in the Southwest of England.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated team of field service engineers and welders/fabricators across the region, helping to manage one of the UK's most modern quarrying fleets consisting of approximately 150 front-line machines.
About the RoleThis senior role involves working with preferred OEM partners to diagnose software issues, targeting first-time fixes for equipment to maintain high standards within the FSE team. The position also requires promoting safe working practices, both personally and with colleagues and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-site technical support for the company's front-line assets across the region, reducing reliance on OEM partners.
- Maintain asset compliance through regular inspections, including brake testing, LOLER's, and six-weekly checks.
- Collaborate with the Head Office maintenance department to ensure timely completion of repair and service jobs.
- Monitor wear components (tyres, GET, UC, etc.) across the region.
- Perform on-site repairs when necessary to aid breakdown timelines and preventative maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safe working practices, including dynamic risk assessments and method statements prior to starting any work.
- Participate in training and development with OEM partners to enhance skills and department capabilities.
- Utilise IT systems to complete repair or service paperwork, diagnose assets, and conduct inspections.
- Liaise with local suppliers, customers, and OEMs to ensure swift close-out of any jobs.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in heavy construction plant maintenance, preferably with training or experience at a major manufacturer.
- A consistent and proactive approach to safety, aligning with the company's core ethos, safety principles, and culture.
- Experience and knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures, including laptop use for fault finding (training provided as needed).
- Prior formal experience in plant maintenance, such as NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- Detailed knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and technical components relevant to quarrying and mining assets.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Excellent organisational and mentoring abilities.
This role comes with a competitive remuneration package, including the option for overtime. The salary range for this position is estimated to be between £60,000 and £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
