Reporting the to the Quality Lead, this position you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the transition of legacy document management and quality management systems to a provincial model. In addition, this position may assist with tasks associated with competency assessment, external and internal assessment, and non-conforming event reporting. The APL Quality Department is a provincial department with members located across the province. As such, work location and hybrid work arrangements may be negotiable. Description As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research. Classification: Laboratory Technologist I Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Quality Primary Location: Sturgeon Community Hospital Location Details: Eligible to work hybrid (on/off site) within Alberta Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.90 Posting End Date: 17-NOV-2025 Temporary Employee Class: Temp P/T Benefits Date Available: 15-DEC-2025 Temporary End Date: 18-OCT-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 9 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $35.45 Maximum Salary: $46.69 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA). Additional Required Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as an MLT, within the last five years. Minimum one (1) year experience with document development and revision within the last 5 years. Preferred Qualifications QMS Certificate or equivalent education. One (1) year experience with advanced user functions in an electronic document management system. Recent (in the last 5 years) experience participating in accreditation activities.
