The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our Calgary office. p>
What you will get up to:
Working closely with the Project Lead and the design team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Set up drawings in both Revit and AutoCAD
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff
- Prepare layouts, conceptual designs and calculations
- Willing to assist in a variety of project support activities including project coordination, strategic planning, client support, and business analysis supporting the business development and project management departments
- Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports and project calculations
- Interface with other design disciplines, coordinate with related stakeholders, and assist team leads and managers
- Update drawings from engineer’s mark ups and red lines
- Create drawing layouts, details, and elevations
- Interpret and understand basic design for architectural, electrical, and mechanical
- Participate in the updating our Company Revit and AutoCAD Standards
- Quality Control
- Participate in the management and updating of our Manual
- Other duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Certified Electrical Technologist Diploma
- 4+ years experience in Electrical Engineering Consulting
- Knowledge and experience with ETAP (Power Studies)
- Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and Revit considered an asset
- BIM/Revit experience would be an asset
- AGI32, Visual experience would be an asset
- Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Registered or ability to become registered with APEGA
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, management, and stakeholders.
