Purpose of the position:

The Analyst will be a core member of the Engineering Asset Management team, responsible for verifying and accurately adjusting track asset data for various downstream applications. The successful candidate will also support various EAM Plant Maintenance applications and update CPKC inventory databases.

Position accountabilities:

  • Ability to correlate GIS asset data to tabular data and vice versa
  • Spatially recognize a track/point asset in tabular view and translate it to a GIS feature
  • Perform “1 to 1” review of track/point assets ensuring correlation between tabular data and GIS database
  • Review and perform mile post updates of track/point assets, aligning with internal/external systems
  • Update field track changes in CPKC systems such as PTC, TEC, GIS, CTN, Time Table, TYES, and TAM/SAP
  • Ensure accurate inspection frequencies for track/point assets meet field and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the industrial development team to account for billable assets and maintenance limits
  • Capability to build/update yard maps
  • Coordinate with internal/external groups using LiDAR collected data

Position requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • University Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in inspecting Engineering track assets is helpful
  • Experience in collecting and balancing track asset data is preferred
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS, GIS tools, and SAP PM is preferred

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain or maintain certification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
