Role Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients to help them achieve independence in their daily activities. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including individuals with disabilities, geriatrics, and children. The Occupational Therapist will develop individualized care plans, assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities to determine their needs. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities. Assist patients with ADLs, promoting independence and enhancing quality of life. Engage in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions from care settings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapy and case management, to provide holistic care. Provide therapy in various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and schools. Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations. Educate patients and families about treatment goals and strategies for continued improvement outside of therapy sessions. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices. Proficiency in medical terminology to effectively communicate within the healthcare environment. Experience working with people with autism and other disabilities. Familiarity with acute care settings, including ICU experience. Background in early intervention strategies for pediatric populations. Understanding of occupational health principles and geriatrics care. Ability to create effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Experience in case management to coordinate comprehensive patient services. Knowledge of outpatient clinic operations and skilled nursing facility protocols. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Qualifications M.Sc. in Occupational Therapy or equivalent. Membership (or eligibility for) with the College of Occupational Therapists. Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. The ability to provide service in English. Exceptional communication skills both oral and written in English. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Experience Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist required. Must be a driver. Application We thank all applicants for their interest in this opportunity.
