Functional HR Leader, Advisory Overview At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world. The Functional HR Leader, Advisory (FHRL) works with the Advisory Canadian Managing Partner (CMP) and Advisory Leadership Team (ALT) on the development and implementation of Advisory Talent Management Strategy and the implementation of National Talent Management strategies and programs within Advisory. As an ‘HR Account Manager’ for the Advisory function, the FHRL works with a team of specialists in talent attraction, total rewards, learning & development, employee relations and other HR business advisors to understand the broad ‘current state’ of the function from a people perspective, make recommendations on a future state that aims to more effectively deploy, retain, engage and develop the right talent for now and the future. Responsibilities Participate as an active member of the National HR Leadership Team representing the Advisory function. Act as an internal consultant to our Advisory team, providing solutions and strategic insights to successfully execute current and future talent needs. Provide industry and market best practices and offer thought leadership on organizational and people‑related talent strategy. Build strong collaborative relationships with leadership at an executive level that add value to business results. Provide overall functional HR direction during business planning and in collaboration with the Advisory Leadership Team and National HR Leadership Team. Work with the CMP and the Advisory Leadership Team to analyze talent issues, determine solutions to unique functional issues, partner with Centres of Expertise (CoE) when necessary, and bring data and insights to the table. Lead succession planning and next‑generation leader processes across the function. Collaborate with local leaders and HR business advisors to enhance teamwork across Advisory, identifying themes and opportunities for individual growth and development. Work closely with other FHRLs to drive cross‑functional efficiencies. Act as a liaison across HR (Delivery Center and COEs) to ensure HR services are aligned and leveraged as intended, providing feedback and collaborating to optimize support for the Advisory function. Qualifications 10+ years of work experience in an HR leader or senior business partner role. 5+ years of professional services experience with a deep understanding of the Advisory business and current/future talent trends. Strong executive presence to influence stakeholders at leadership and executive levels. Extensive experience across HR, including reward principles, performance management, career development, learning and organizational development, and assessment. CHRP or equivalent experience is an asset. Strategic thinker with strong analysis, presentation, and communication skills. Self‑starter who can thrive in a fast‑paced environment and respond swiftly to market changes. Deep skill set in interpreting business issues, building rapport, conducting inquiry, listening, diagnosing, summarizing, and influencing for agreement and commitment. This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will support and collaborate with English‑speaking colleagues or stakeholders across the country and apply employment laws, rules and regulations during the regular course of employment. Pay Range Expected base salary range: $115,000 to $193,000, with potential bonus awards. Salary determination within this range is based on location, skills, competencies and unique qualifications.
