Purpose

Multinational banking is a key growth pillar of Scotiabank's refreshed strategy, which entails the delivery of a differentiated and consistent client experience across our footprint, placing the client at the center of our service model, regardless of where they choose to do business.

In partnership with Corporate Banking and various stakeholders across International Banking and Global Transaction Banking, the Associate Director, MNC will manage relationships at the country/local level (in Caribbean and Central America) and will support global account plans & service delivery in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The focus for this role is growth of products and services within Global Transaction Banking.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and deepen the MNC portfolio by driving subsidiary-level sales of all GTB products (Cash management, Deposits, Card, Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance) in Caribbean and Central America.
  • Review data and connect with coverage teams globally to proactively identify product gaps/ opportunities for multinational clients.
  • Work closely with CIB partners (PAMs, SAMs) and GTB partners (TMOs, PSSs) across the Americas, Europe and APAC to lead business development activities to increase transaction services for multinationals headquartered outside of C+CA.
  • Support GTB and Corporate partners in developing holistic global transaction banking plans and executing to grow the local and global relationship.
  • Maintain good knowledge of Scotiabank's local and global platform, product capabilities, operational processes, risk appetite and risk culture to facilitate cross-product/cross-regional relationship management.
  • Stay keenly aware of the changing macro environment and regulatory landscape, and their impact on the industry and potential future opportunities.
  • Remain in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree preferred/an advantage in any relevant subject.
  • Knowledge of transaction products and processes.
  • Business Development Skills with superior closing capabilities.
  • Experience at global or regional bank.
  • CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) designation is an asset.
  • Strong MS PowerPoint skills to update client presentations, pitches and proposals.
