To champion the design, build, and development of the assembly/stamping processes required to assemble various components and assemblies in the chassis/BIW commodity groups for our customers. Also, champions the prototype process to prove out the assembly process of the previously listed products. Update current, and prepare plant layout drawings with modifications to the existing lines and installations of new lines and processes.

Your Responsibilities
  • Handles projects from inception to completion (timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off (PPAP and run at rate), prototype programs, and engineering changes) with moderate follow-up by leadership.
  • Prepares reports, charts and other documentation required for engineering records and projects.
  • Works with all departments and customers to design solutions that improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety and maintenance related issues.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to new ideas.
  • Supervises equipment relocation and installation to MBCM.
  • Assists in resolving quality concerns and supports fast response open issues related to the engineering dept.
  • Reviews, co-ordinates and implements all customer approved engineering changes.
  • Interfaces with production departments, customers and vendors to design packaging solutions to improve production planning, efficiency, ergonomic design and economic viability of our operation.
  • Updates and documents current plant layouts.
  • Supports new business quoting process with packaging recommendations.
  • Supports activities for successful attainment of PPAP.
  • Additional projects and responsibilities as required.
Your preferred qualifications
  • Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial.
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience within a lean manufacturing environment, preferably automotive assembly.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Able to read and interpret CAD drawings, experience with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs.
