About The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Interprofessional Practice and Learning, Central Zone, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for the assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge to translate knowledge into practice. The CNE demonstrates competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership and professional practice. The CNE exhibits knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework supporting collaborative, person‑centered care within Nova Scotia Health (NSH). The CNE fosters a culture of learning, building capacity and supporting the advancement of professional practice through the implementation of orientation and ongoing education programs that integrate a learner‑centered approach. The CNE provides advice, consultation and support to advance practice and maintain evidence‑based standards of care, optimizing patient outcomes within the interprofessional care team. Note: periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia is required, and reliable transportation is necessary. About You Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Masters in Nursing, Health or Education preferred. Active practising license in good standing with NSCN required. Minimum three years full‑time clinical nursing experience within the last five years in Perioperative (Operating Room) nursing required. CNA Certification/other specialty certification required or willing to complete. BLS‑C (HCP) certification required. Recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator/Nursing Instructor preferred. Previous experience in education support, onboarding new staff, and transition to practice an asset. Adult Education Program an asset or willing to complete. Previous teaching experience involving designing, implementing and evaluating traditional & non‑traditional methods of instruction preferred. Recent professional development relevant to maintaining currency in clinical practice & education. Evidence of adult education theory & application and leadership development and/or experience in the last year. Demonstrated initiative, effective interpersonal skills, communication skills & innovative problem solving. Skilled in the facilitation of concept‑based learning, collaborative learning & practice development. Computer skills including Microsoft Suite & computer documentation systems. Physical demands – setting up rooms, walking and standing, movement of educational resources/tools with facilities & across sites. Hours Long Assignment Full‑time; 75 hours Bi‑weekly. Compensation And Benefits $50.80 – $60.63 hourly ($99,059 – $118,220 annually). Successful candidates may also be eligible for the benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan. Salary may increase to $62.74 hourly ($122,357 annually) with 25 years’ nursing experience. Once You've Applied Thank you for your interest in this position.
