About the Opportunity Reporting to the Simulation Manager, Interprofessional Practice and Learning, Central Zone, the Simulation Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible (in collaboration with key stakeholders) for the assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice. The Simulation Clinical Nurse Educator demonstrates competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership and professional practice. The Simulation Clinical Nurse Educator exhibits the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework that supports collaborative person‑centered care within Nova Scotia Health (NSH). The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team uses a framework that is grounded in the theories of adult and concept‑based learning, practice development, fundamentals of care and collaborative learning and practice. Utilizing professional standards, current evidence and best practice guidelines, the Simulation CNE fosters a culture of learning to build capacity and support the advancement of professional practice through the implementation of orientation and ongoing education programs that integrate a learner‑centered approach. The CNE provides advice, consultation, and support to advance practice, and to maintain and develop evidence‑based standards of care, to optimize patient outcomes within the interprofessional care team. Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia. Access to reliable transportation is required. About You Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing required Master of Nursing /Health Care/Education preferred Active practicing license in good standing with NSCN required A minimum of three years full‑time clinical experience within the last five years facilitating Simulation‑Based Learning required Experience in Simulation‑Based Learning and Teaching preferred Completion of a relevant Clinical Simulation certificate/program is an asset Relevant CNA/other specialty certification required or willingness to complete BLS‑C (HCP) certification required BLS‑C (HCP) and/or ALS/ACLS instructor certification with Canada Heart and Stroke/American Heart Association preferred Diploma or certificate in adult education an asset Leadership Development Education an asset Previous teaching experience which involves designing, implementing and evaluating both traditional and non‑traditional methods of instruction preferred Recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator/Nursing Instructor preferred Physical demands – setting up rooms, walking and standing, movement of educational resources/tools with facilities and across sites Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training and certifications. Hours Long Assignment Full‑time; 75 hours bi‑weekly. Compensation and Benefits $50.80 – $60.63 hourly$99,059 – $118,220 annually$62.74 hourly ($122,357 annually) with 25 years' nursing experience. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
