THE OPPORTUNITY

The Manager, Finance will lead the financial accounting team and is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the financial accounting function within the organization. The role involves leading a team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role plays a key role in internal controls, audit management, and process optimization. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and experience leading effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting:

  1. Oversee the development and maintenance of timely and accurate financial statements and reports (monthly and quarterly).
  2. Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures and compliance with financial regulations, reporting requirements, and industry standards.
  3. Review, establish and monitor internal controls to protect the company and ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies and industry standards.
  4. Oversee internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and addressing audit inquiries.
  5. Oversee full-cycle accounting activities including cash flow, working capital, corporate tax, corporate loans, and performing financial analysis.
  6. Oversee tax-related activities, including accurate and timely filing of tax returns, and staying updated on tax regulations.
  7. Leverage financial management software and technology to streamline processes and improve overall financial efficiency.
  8. Provide advice and guidance on finance matters including financial systems, analysis, and reporting identifying opportunities for process optimization.
  9. Provide effective management and direction to the accounting team.
  10. Provide functional leadership to ensure optimization of financial accounting processes, accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.

    Education

    1. A university degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; li>

    Experience

    1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
    2. Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, and internal controls.
    3. Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing industry will be considered an asset.

    Competencies and Knowledge

    1. Excellent supervisory skills, with a proven track record of leading a team to optimal performance.
    2. Strong level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.

    1. Takes accountability and ownership of the accounting & finance department.
