Our Mississauga Liquids Division Team is growing and we are looking for a qualified 310T Maintenance Manager to join our team

Manage the branch maintenance program in an efficient, safe manner. Manage and coordinate the activities of the employees engaged in servicing and repairing equipment and vehicles while providing hands-on maintenance to assist the shop employees with the completion of their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient maintenance, improvement and installation of recycling equipment in compliance with company procedures.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure operating metrics are being met such as efficiencies, up time and reliability.
  • Provide Technical support (related to reliability / maintenance services) for all production equipment throughout the facility.
  • Assure equipment are mechanically capable of meeting design operating rates and reliability, and improve up time and reliability for all equipment.
  • Identify and develop plans to improve equipment designs or department procedures to maximize asset availability.
  • Optimize cost through effective budget planning and management. Identify and implement cost saving ideas for facility maintenance.
  • Interact, plan and schedule major jobs with contractors to ensure services provided to the facility meet operational and company needs.
  • Responsible for a team of technicians including recruiting, performance, training, coaching, discipline and career development.
  • Code of Conduct – Promote Accountability, Integrity and Diligence through demonstrated behaviours and open communication at all levels.
  • Oversee the parts and inventory department and ensure all parts/supplies are being inventoried for prompt and efficient access.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries, keeping in mind budgetary requirements.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers. 
  • Negotiate with suppliers and seek alternative vendors where required. Propose improvements to the current purchasing system the will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.
  • Assist in developing more effective invoicing and collecting processes. 
  • Develop and manage the proposal, bidding, and negotiation process while adhering to applicable legal standards and codes of ethical conduct.


Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Minimum 5 Years Supervisory and People Management Experience with significant hands on experience in leading maintenance teams.
  • Significant record of achievement with regard to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and breakdown reduction.
  • Excellent project management skills, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a culture of accountability and cross departmental teamwork.
  • 310 T Truck and Coach License
  • Valid “G” driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work
  • Communicate with Senior Management, administrative, supervisory and plant staff as required.
  • Provide and/or participate in training as required.
  • Comply with company rules, federal and provincial regulations as well policies as stated in the Employee Manual.
  • Evaluate daily downtime and deficiencies reports for the purpose of systems troubleshooting and maintenance scheduling of work orders.
  • Review accurate maintenance inventory
  • Meet regularly with Plant Manager to discuss maintenance issues, operational changes and the progress of Preventative Maintenance, expenditures and future projects.
