Patient Care Manager, Adult Inpatient Mental Health and Addictions Status: Regular Full Time Department: Psychiatry General Program: Mental Health & Addictions Shift hours: 8 Hour Shifts, Days Schedule (Subject to Change) Location: Oshawa Wage Schedule: $56.77 - $80.16 per hour Vacancy Number: 2500003261 Duties and Responsibilities The Adult Mental Health and Addictions Patient Care Manager at Lakeridge Health Oshawa reports to the Senior Director, Mental Health and Addictions. This position is responsible for the management of Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Health Services, with an initial assignment to Inpatient Mental Health and Addictions. While leading with Lakeridge Health values and patient‑centred approach, in collaboration with all members of the health care team, the successful incumbent will use effective planning, budgeting and problem‑solving skills, to ensure the optimization of unit and program processes; human resource recruitment and retention; and to develop/support business goals including operational efficiencies and optimized interdisciplinary team functioning. The Patient Care Manager will be people‑ and results‑oriented in working to accomplish unit program outcomes through goals and priority setting to drive exceptional patient and family experiences that will demonstrate strong patient outcomes. They will maximize the use of evidence‑based practices, inspire others through connection to purpose, and support staff empowerment to operate a full scope of practice in the delivery of recovery‑based mental health and addictions care. Qualifications Bachelor degree in a health‑related discipline required. Master's degree (preferred) or current enrollment in a Master's program near completion. Regulated Health Professional required; registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario an asset. Mental Health Nursing Certification preferred or advanced training in mental health and addictions care. Extensive knowledge and practice experience in inpatient mental health settings preferred. Advanced knowledge in patient‑centred, recovery‑focused and trauma‑informed models of care. Recent mental health management experience, including both adult and youth populations preferred. Proven track record of achieving results that improve the organization and inspire confidence and commitment. Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and create a high‑performance culture through change‑management strategies that facilitate growth and development. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital functions and current trends in health care. Proven knowledge of and ability to work with Collective Agreements and Labour Relations issues. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and related best‑practice guidelines. Proven ability to problem‑solve and critically analyze issues. Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, project planning and risk, change management, evaluation and utilisation management skills. Well‑developed negotiation and conflict management/resolution skills. Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including the ability to fully utilize communication tools.
