The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Finance will be a functional leader and a critical member of the leadership team. As the Director, Finance, you will lead the finance function to support the company's strategic objectives. You will oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, and ensure the company's financial health through sound management practices. You will be a key partner in driving financial performance and providing insights for business decisions.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes to align with corporate goals.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and dashboards for internal stakeholders and external regulatory requirements.
  • Cost Management: Oversee cost-control initiatives and contribute to efficiency improvements in operations.
  • Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements, ensuring the company meets its obligations.
  • Tax Strategy & Compliance: Partnering with KPMG to develop and manage tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee treasury functions, including managing cash balances, to achieve working capital targets.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks, including credit, currency, and operational risks, to protect the company's financial position.
  • Key Liaison with Group Office in Ireland: Serve as the main point of contact for finance-related queries and reporting requirements with the group office in Ireland, ensuring alignment with group-wide financial strategies and compliance.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and corporate governance standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, direction, and development opportunities.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Product Development) to provide financial insights that drive operational performance.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Support the CFO in evaluating strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Systems: Optimize and oversee the implementation of financial systems and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.

What You Need

  • University degree specializing in accounting, finance, business or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles. Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop and manage a high performance team focused on accountability and meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and provide follow-up
  • Experience with SAP is an asset
  • A strategic thinker with a strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • PowerBI considered an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the Dimplex team
  • Above average analytical and technical skills
  • Excellent decision-making skills, including information gathering and problem solving
  • Demonstrated focus on results and business/process improvements
  • Proven ability to set and achieve objectives
