The Opportunity:

McElhanney has a unique opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team in Lloydminster, AB. This individual will be responsible for guiding project teams in the delivery of diverse civil engineering projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with municipalities, rural municipalities, counties, and cities on a variety of infrastructure, construction, and roadworks projects. In this role, you will be given the opportunity to further develop your leadership, project management, technical design, and business development skills, all while being a part of a greatly established and well recognized team. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide detailed design support in the production of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications, meeting all client and approval agency requirements, including new municipal utilities and road works, local government utility rehabilitation and renewal projects, and land development projects.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of documents required for approvals, calculations, prepare development and construction cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role with a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Proficiency in the application of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, water, and sewer modelling commercial software, Excel, and/or other related software.
  • Experience with all government levels, construction contractors and approving authorities.
  • Ability to travel for occasional site visits.
  • Experience working in a construction or consulting environment is an asset.
