ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Executive Director, the Director is responsible for operational planning, management, and leadership of various allied health care services to ensure care is integrated and reflects best practice evidence-based care. This includes ensuring services/programs comply with established standards and regulations. The Director has shared accountability for setting priorities and implementing strategies that support high quality, safe, cost-effective, person-centred care. This includes the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of services while supporting effective and efficient patient access and flow, maintaining efficient and effective resource utilization, patient/family satisfaction, and quality patient care that meets established standards and public expectations.
Working in a collaborative model with physician and operational leaders, this position enables and supports the ongoing and future delivery of fully integrated allied health care services across the zone. The Director of Rehabilitation, Ambulatory Care, and Supportive Services works collaboratively with Directors and Managers to ensure continuous improvement and is responsible for the development, maintenance, and monitoring of quality management and safety programs, and compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject
- Master's degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject considered an asset
- Eligible for registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association
- Equivalent experience and/or alternative education may be considered
- Certified Health Executive designation considered an asset
- Experience working in the core program and services and the health system
- 5 – 7 years of relevant senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for management, financial, strategic and people management to deliver high quality services
- Excellent leadership, relationship building, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client centred services
- Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning
- Demonstrated skill in strategic planning and systems thinking
- Fosters an interprofessional approach to care and a working knowledge of the many disciplines.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
- Expertise in financial planning
- Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues
- Critical thinking and analytical problem solving
- Understands the principles of project management and demonstrated ability to create and lead complex work teams
- Expertise in quality improvement methodologies; monitor quality and performance indicators
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
- Demonstrated advanced communications skills/positive energetic public persona
- Demonstrated cultural competence
- Collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong working memory
- Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data
- Possesses a sound knowledge of management
