Your future role on our team: You’ll be working at either BBA’s office as Environmental Professional, and you’ll hold the role of project leader. The Environment department carries out a variety of mandates in project development and execution in the industrial (energy, mining, linear projects), commercial and private sectors, including biophysical characterization, impact and social acceptability studies as well as approval and permit applications. As an intermediate biologist, you’ll perform various tasks within a multidisciplinary team and coordinate your work with project managers to complete mandates.

  1. Lead and participate in preparing proposals (strategy, work plan, budget, etc.)
  2. Lead and participate in environmental impact assessments and other related studies within a multidisciplinary team
  3. Lead and participate in field survey
  4. Lead and participate in applying for environmental permits and approval certificates
  5. Support project managers in drafting proposals
  6. Develop methodologies, prepare sampling plans and ensure data entry
  7. Lead or write inventory reports, diagnostics and baselines, and approval certificates for government departments to complete development projects
  8. Ensure project budgets and schedules are respected
  9. Maintain effective and constructive relationships with clients and other employees as part of your duties

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in an environment-related field
  2. From 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in environmental projects (budget, schedule, planning, work execution)
  3. Experience with field surveys (high-water mark delineation, botanical method, fauna and flora inventories, characterization of land and water ecosystems, Québec’s Environment Quality Act, etc.)
  4. Good writing skills
  5. Ability to give oral presentations (for projects or business development)
  6. Knowledge of the MS Office Suite and ArcGIS software

Asset:

  • bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written
  • master’s degree in Environment or Biological Sciences
  • ASPConstruction training
