Job Description The Planner I on the Master Scheduling team develops the IMS (Integrated Master Schedule) of new shipbuilding projects with Primavera P6. The Planner supports the Planning Lead to update the weekly and monthly IMS including progress, logical link, and actual/forecast dates. Performs analysis, and highlights the major issues identified through the maintenance process. The Planner also responsible for creating and maintaining the IFS WBS structure and L3 activities to support the Detail Planning team to assign SOs, and needs to communicate with other core teams of Planning & Scheduling and Production Control proactively to solve any IMS and IFS relevant issues. What You’ll Do Utilizing Primavera P6 to develop and maintain the Contractual IMS and L4 Operational Schedule for Program Management Office (PMO) to support adherence to schedule, forecasting and to provide data/management information for decision making purposes. Develop and maintain the L3 budgets in IMS, generate the bottoms‑up resource profiles to coordinate with Resource Planning to provide the program resource profile, and to coordinate with Program Control to support the EVM. To support the Lead planner for Baseline and Rebaseline process of Build IMS, including the development of Industrial Subs scopes and Commissioning. To develop and maintain the L4 IMS to support Program Control and Operations with credible scheduling and analysis. Develop and maintain the IFS Sub‑project (WBS) and L3 to let Detail Planning assign SOs. Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly project status reports. To support the project Lead Planner and Supervisor to provide planning and scheduling analysis and forecasting to senior leadership to develop management information that will provide the basis for future actions and decision making about the program. To implement the approved PMBCR into IMS and IFS. What You’ll Bring Up to 2 years’ planning/scheduling experience in a large manufacturing environment, preferably in the shipbuilding industry. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, preferable in Industrial Engineering. PMP and PMI‑SP will be treated as assets. Knowledge of shipbuilding operations with a detailed understanding of the relationship between procurement, design, production, and test operations is an asset. Knowledge and experience of managing schedule through Primavera P6 and MSP is recommended but not mandatory. Experience using an ERP system (preferable IFS) in a large manufacturing environment. Knowledge of EVMS principles and their application in monitoring, reporting, and controlling work activities. Strong problem‑solving skills, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service focus. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills. Excellent computer skills including Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to multi‑task, prioritize and problem solve. Good judgment and reasoning skills. Ability to work with limited direction and to function as a key team member. The estimated salary for this position is $73,800 - $90,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
