Position Summary Reporting to the Protective Care Manager, the Protective Care Night Coordinator provides staffing and management support to all Protective Care employees while upholding MSP’s core values of harm reduction, choice, equity, and diversity. Responsibilities include administrative support (payroll, time‑card approvals, policy administration, and compliance) and professional development (training, program compliance, workplace feedback, etc.). The Coordinator will oversee operations from 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities Oversee and provide direction to Protective Care staff in their day‑to‑day duties. Support the Director in policy and procedure adherence. Assist the Director in implementing new policies and procedures. Research and develop new initiatives in collaboration with the Director. Coordinate staff onboarding and training. Communicate organizational updates to staff regularly, answer queries, and provide information as needed. Monitor ongoing work, identify problems, and recommend continuous improvements of procedures and policies. Manage employee performance, keeping the Director up‑to‑date on staff performance. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing relevant participant information. Ensure employees follow safe work practices and MSP standard operating procedures. Conduct daily PPE audits on correct use, donning, and disposal procedures. Lead team debrief after incidents. Complete timesheets for payroll processing in a timely manner. Address community member complaints or concerns; keep the Director updated on all interactions. Provide coverage on an emergency basis when needed. Provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed. Attend and plan mandatory staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Communicate regularly with the Director about staffing/scheduling issues or concerns. Collect and report all monthly statistical information, MIS stats, and other program‑related stats in a timely and accurate manner. Qualifications Two years’ experience in human services, preferably with adults challenged by homelessness, mental illness, and/or chemical dependency. Post‑secondary education in addictions or mental health is an asset. Experience in a management or administrative role is an asset. Proficient computer literacy. Strong communication skills and ability to work with staff from diverse backgrounds. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Client‑centred care philosophy. Ability to assess and respond to crisis situations. Understand PHIA regulations and comply with them. Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills. Experience in a multidisciplinary team. Cooperate and maintain continuity across programs, with consideration and respect for participants. Knowledge of Indigenous culture. Knowledge of poverty’s effects and determinants of health. Handle participants displaying unpleasant or aggressive behaviour effectively. Apply Harm Reduction and Housing First philosophies in daily support. Work flexible hours to meet program needs. Additional Requirements Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Search and Adult Abuse Registry Check. Valid CPR and Basic First Aid. Non‑violent Crisis Intervention and mental health first aid training is considered an asset.
