Role Overview: We are seeking a full-time Immigration Assistant to join our fast-paced law firm in Surrey, BC, providing crucial support to our solo practicing lawyer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing and filing immigration applications, conducting legal research, communicating with clients, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring adherence to professional standards and confidentiality.

Responsibilities: Prepare and file immigration applications, including TRVs, PRs, LMIAs, and PNPs. Conduct legal research on relevant case laws to support immigration and judicial review applications. Summarize documents and information for easy reference. Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates. Manage files using practice management software. Generate invoices, process payments, and maintain financial records. Organize and manage documents effectively. Perform administrative tasks such as answering calls, scheduling, and general office duties. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications: Minimum 3-month to 1-year diploma in legal or business administration or related experience. 1-2 years of Canadian experience as an Immigration Assistant or similar role.

Language Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages such as Hindi and/or Punjabi is an asset.

IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel). Experience with online repositories, Onedrive, Google Drive, and legal databases. Familiarity with Adobe Professional and DocuSign. Proficient in handling Immigration portals.
