p>Sanctuary AI, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is looking to hire a Director, Government Relations to manage all government-related sales, grants, and legislative activities relevant to our organization. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this individual will play a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of government and defense sectors, driving sales, and fostering strategic relationships.The Director of Government Relations will lead the development and execution of government sales strategies, build and maintain relationships with key government officials, navigate regulatory landscapes, and ensure compliance with government policies. Securing government contracts and funding opportunities will play a key role in the overall success and expansion of Sanctuary AI’s presence around the world.Successfully secure key government contracts and partnerships
Prospect eligible programs, draft grant applications, and manage existing grant awards
Effectively navigate and comply with regulatory requirements
Build a robust network of government and defense industry contacts
Develop and implement an effective government relations strategy and roadmap
Collaborate internally to align government relations strategies with company goals
Bachelor’s degree in political science, business, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
5+ years’ experience in government relations or defense sales
Existing network of government and defense industry contacts in Ottawa, Canada and/or Washington, D.li>Strong understanding of regulatory landscapes and compliance requirements
Proven track record of securing government contracts and funding
Strategic planning and execution
Relationship-building and networking
Regulatory and compliance expertise
Leadership and team management
Strong relationship-building skills
Mission driven and passionate about bringing human-like intelligence to machines
Founded in 2018, Sanctuary builds humanoid robots and a novel control system for them that integrates symbolic logic and reasoning with data-driven robot foundation models. We use our robots to collect vision, audio, touch, and proprioception data from the perspective of the robot while they perform real-world work tasks. We use that data to train multimodal robot foundation models. Our mission is to create the world's first human-like intelligence in general-purpose robots.
