About The Role

Here are some accountabilities that they expect that the successful candidate will deliver:

  • Creating and maintaining the litigation team's "target litigation timeline” and reporting on the same in bi-weekly file meetings
  • Communicating frequently and effectively with clients, the Tax Court, and opposing counsel so that all parties collaborate to move the matter faster
  • Drafting high-quality litigation and court documents (e.g., procedural timetables, affidavits, motion material) and serving and filing those documents in fewer days than set out in our "target litigation timeline”.
  • Gathering evidence, organizing the evidence, and delivering it to the litigation team in fewer days than set out in our "target litigation timeline”.
  • Finding new ways to contribute to the client's and the litigation team's success.

What You Bring

  • Have two years' experience working in tax controversy and litigation;
  • Are technologically confident and have a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification or equivalent experience using Office
  • Give clients more confidence by expertly handling projects
  • You have litigation knowledge and experience and have a good handle on the Tax Court Rules
  • Experience scheduling examinations for discovery, helping to gather evidence and disclosure, and wrangling witnesses
  • Good communicator
  • You keep your professional life organized
