Position Status: Temporary Full-Time (12-month contract)

Description of the Position:

The Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships is responsible for creating partnerships with corporate donors to maximize fundraising results for the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). they will also manage a portfolio of new and existing donors.

The Associate Director will provide overall leadership and project management for key hospital priorities within the Campaign, serving as a priority lead and collaborating with other SickKids Foundation colleagues to develop opportunities and strategies to engage donors.

You will:

  1. Identify, develop, grow and maintain relationships with corporations in Canada, ranging in size from SMEs to enterprises within designed sectors
  2. Develop donor acquisition, retention and migration strategies for corporate partners
  3. Manage a portfolio of 80+ key corporate partners and prospects, tracking activity in KYDS (CRM database)
  4. Cultivate effective relationships within SickKids to support program alignment, proposal development, volunteer opportunities, donor cultivation, solicitation, activation and stewardship
  5. Articulate the importance of paediatric healthcare in its three facets: clinical, educational and research to drive engagement, and business and social impact
  6. Work collaboratively with colleagues in Philanthropy, Marketing, Activation, Leadership & Legacy Giving and Community Partnerships to advance donor relationships
  7. Work closely with SickKids Foundation teams regarding gift administration, research and analytics, proposal development, partnership activation, recognition and stewardship
  8. Develop a network of contacts interested in advancing the mission and success of SickKids Foundation and SickKids
  9. Participate in team and cross-functional projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. University education with a focus in fundraising, marketing, sales or another applicable discipline
  2. 7+ years of experience within a fundraising, business development, sales or other relevant work experience
  3. Experience in soliciting and closing complex gifts at the $100,000.00+ level
  4. Ability to build new and long-term relationships with prospects, donors, volunteers and colleagues
  5. Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  6. Ability to think strategically and work both within a team and independently in directing new initiatives or enhancing existing programs
  7. Superior verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and storytelling
  8. Organized, detail-oriented with strong follow through
  9. Adept with Microsoft 365 including intermediate Excel skills
  10. Highly developed negotiation, analytic and project management skills
  11. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
  12. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other relational databases will be considered an asset
  13. Product Management experience
  14. Previous experience selling sponsorship and driving employee giving campaigns
  15. Ability to create social impact measurement reports
  16. Previous experience with senior volunteer management will be considered an asset
  17. Previous leadership experience will be considered an asset
