You will lead a team of Developers and Sr. Developers, ensuring daily operational excellence, mentoring the team through data engineering development work, and ensuring agile processes are followed. The role offers a mix of hands-on data and reporting development work with operational team leadership. You will apply expertise in building data pipelines, reports, and contributing to the enterprise data platform.ResponsibilitiesNon-Technical Responsibilities (Operational Team Management)Technical and Operational Leadership of a team of DevelopersManage team workload and provide technical leadership in solutioningLead scrum practices within the teamEnsure solutions are documented and tested according to team standardsBest Practice and Process DevelopmentDevelop and implement best practices for both technical and process needs, and work cross-functionally with other scrum teams to suggest improvementsEducation and MentorshipWork with Sr. Managers to support training needs and suggest learning paths for career developmentProvide training to business stakeholders as required (e.g., product demos and platform demos)Technical Responsibilities (Operational & Tool-Based)Data Pipeline Development with MS FabricDesign, develop, and test metadata-driven pipelines in MS FabricDesign and implement pipelines for data curation and preparing data for business reportingCollaborate with product owners and architects to understand requirements for new projectsReporting Development with Power BIWork with business stakeholders to demo and iterate on report design, ensuring needs are captured for effective decision makingDesign, develop, and test reports using Power BI within the Fabric environment What You Need To SucceedEducation: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Certifications in a data analytics field a plus.Experience: 2+ years in a management role delivering data solutions.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and data visualization tools such as Power BI. Excellent SQL skills and PySpark/Python knowledge are essential. Experience with legacy MS stack including SSIS is beneficial.Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex problems and deliver solutions to meet hard timelines while managing risk.Project Management: Self-starter planning skills; ability to lead Agile methodologies and ensure adherence to standards for documentation and handovers.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.OpenText's Employment Equity and Diversity Policy provides direction on maintaining an inclusive work environment.
