Job Title Data Specialist - People Health Location We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary works space will be remote work from home, there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible. The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee’s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy. Since employees should be available to return to the workplace with 24 hours’ notice, remote work outside of the province or country is not acceptable. Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, People Health and Wellbeing, the role of the Data Specialist will support the delivery of projects, processes and best practices designed to achieve the goals of People Safety and Support. The Data Specialist will work with a diverse group of internal and external partners to enable coordination, communication and controls in both the management of annual business planning processes and output of deliverables and projects of various size and scope. Job Duties and Accountabilities Support strategic plan related to performance and status reporting by gathering, maintaining and interpreting internal data sources; Analysis of internal data against external evidence related to the work and strategic plan of the department; Effectively interact with all levels of management and staff to carry out project related tasks of various size and scope on an as-needed basis; Engage and communicate with workplace partners/parties at various levels; Organize and interpret data to present to varying leadership levels, organizations and committees; Participate in the development of innovative presentations, comprehensive reports, and proposals; Contribute to the day-to-day management of the operational functions of the program; Participate in Quality Assurance & SOP reviews, and departmental process improvement initiatives; Other duties as assigned and required. Qualifications and Skills Successful completion of a university degree in a data science, science or health-related discipline with 1-3 years of experience; General understanding of the Canadian healthcare system (public and private) and health technologies; Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills; Detail oriented and ability to synthetize data and make deductive decisions; High level of proficiency with word-processing, database and spreadsheet software (including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office suite); Experience with electronic medical records and occupational health/disability management software an asset; Ability to draw out meaningful business insights by synthetizing information from multiple sources; Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills) for internal/external audiences, as well as strong listening and investigative skills; Self-starter who demonstrates a strong capacity for agility and creativity, and does not require detailed direction at all times; Robust organization skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced working environment; Team player with strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and time-management skills.
