Civil / Structural Engineer/Technologist

At CBCL Limited, we are a successful, dynamic, growing engineering and environmental consulting firm. We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineering Technologist to join our Ports & Marine team. The preferred location for this position is in either our Halifax or Sydney office. However, we are open to considering other CBCL branch offices or a remote/hybrid work arrangement.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who cares deeply about the quality of their work associated with new and rehabilitated Ports & Marine infrastructure projects. In this role, you will have opportunities to work on a wide variety of high-profile, complex projects and gain experience on infrastructure projects that have a significant impact on our communities.
- Assist in the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for the full range of Ports & Marine infrastructure projects including wharf structures, dredging, and breakwaters.
- Prepare drawing packages for a wide range of projects.
- Support the day-to-day activities of projects from inception through engineering, construction, and contract administration.
- Perform site inspections and reviews on construction sites with the support of senior team members.
- Prepare technical reports and cost estimates.
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field is required (equivalent combination of education and/or experience will also be considered).
- Thorough working ability with Civil 3D and AutoCAD software with above-average drawing production capabilities.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Infraworks, or GIS would be considered an asset.
- Ability to carry out data collection activities including topographic survey and infrastructure investigations.
