We look forward to hearing from you.At Hatch, the Structural CAD Designer is part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small projects.The role is responsible for the production of structural 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Structural Designer.The successful candidate will participate in a wide range of projects covering structures such as building foundations, equipment foundations, building steel framing, and designs of various other structures for mining,industrial and hydropower plants.Activities include structural steel and concrete modeling and drafting for both front end planning and the detailed engineering phase for multi-discipline projects.As the successful candidate, you will:Assist the Lead Structural Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and scheduleProduce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as requiredPerform conceptual layout workCheck drawings prior to releaseEnsure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplinesPerform clash detection of models with other discipline modelsParticipation in formal engineering review processesVerify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilitiesIncorporate safety in design.Qualifications and Experience:Must be working towards graduating in 2026, or recently graduated, with a diploma specializing in civil/structural designExperience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environmentProficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages, including at Revit, AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation softwareKnowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to structural design in Ontario.Understanding of other discipline requirementsKey Attributes of the Successful Candidate:Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challengesCollaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailShows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challengesSelf-motivated, resourceful and initiative-taker.Note: Applicants must submit a transcript (official or unofficial) upon applicationCollaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutionsDon't meet every single requirement?
