With a focus on fostering client relationships and providing top-tier engineering services, we take pride in our commitment to excellence.Position SummaryAs a Structural Designer at KOA, you will contribute to the planning and detailing of structural systems for industrial and commercial projects, supporting both new construction and modifications to existing facilities. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and expertise in the field to provide solutions to a diverse clientele that includes multinational industry leaders.Essential FunctionsPrepare plans, drawings, models, specifications, quantity take-offs, and other technical documents using computer-aided design (CAD) softwareProcess preliminary design data to be used in various stages of design document preparationCollaborate with Engineers to complete design projects with various levels of complexityUtilize existing CAD and Revit standards in the development of design documentsPerform field measurements for validation of existing or as-built conditionsRecommend upgrades and revisions to internal procedures and practicesCommunicate, collaborate, and interact effectively with Krech Ojard staff, individuals from other organizations, and client representativesPerform other related functions as assignedRequired QualificationsTechnical degree in Drafting or CAD Design, or two years of technical course work focused in Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related disciplineMinimum 2 years working with AutoDesk Revit or other CAD software in industries related to design and construction. Additional experience may be substituted for educational requirementsEligible to work in Canada; no specific licensing requirements for this designer role/li>Knowledge and application of the principles and practices of CAD development and creation of drawing packages at various stages of design developmentDesired QualificationsGeneral knowledge of equipment and materials used in the construction phase of projectsPerform mathematical calculations relative to drafting and design layout of systems and structuresPerformance of limited inspections of construction work to confirm compliance with design intentCompensationDepending on the successful candidate's background and experience, compensation for this position will include an annual base salary in the range of $65,000 – $95,000 CAD per year.
