The P&O Business Partner provides support to the assigned location(s) through recruitment and selection, talent management, labour and employee relations, and training. This position also assists in developing, implementing, monitoring and controlling programs and policies as well as supporting management in applications of HR programs.

  1. Partner with the People & Organization team, Managers and Associates to effectively process administrative activities ranging from new hires, promotions, transfers, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, terminations and questions regarding policies, programs and compliance issues.
  2. Primary contact and resource for Associate and labour/employee relations matters and the support of Site and Regional Management.
  3. Coach and mentor line Supervision and Management on performance and disciplinary matters including termination.
  4. Provides counselling on attendance management, accommodation requests and performance issues for all staff.
  5. Implements strategies which are consistent with business focus.
  6. Provides counsel and partners with managers in the performance management process and the execution of employee reviews, the creation of development plans and performance improvement plans.
  7. Ensures that the policies contained in the Company's Policy Manual are followed.
  8. Provides analysis and project management support on various human resources programs. Performs work on HR projects as required.
    1. Minimum Degree and/or Diploma in Business Administration and/or related discipline/experience, with an emphasis on Human Resources Management.
    2. Labour relations experience within a unionized environment is an asset.
    3. CPHR designation an asset.
    4. Proven leadership and business acumen.
    5. Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point.
