We are looking for an Operations Controller (16‑month term) to join our High Prairie OSB Division, located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill has undergone an exciting major rebuild and modernization, including the commissioning of a new continuous press that will make us the most modern mill in North America. Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: 3+ years of relevant finance experience. Forest industry and/or manufacturing accounting experience preferred. Degree in business with an accounting specialty. Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The ability to lead without direct authority and work effectively in a team environment. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills. Proactive approach to problem‑solving with strong decision‑making capability. Proficiency in forward planning and project management. In this role, you will: Operate in a safe manner in accordance with work safe rules, regulations, and policies, and recognize and eliminate all safety hazards. Ensure company policy and procedures are followed. Act as a business partner to the Plant Manager and the site management team. Be responsible for financial statement preparation and other divisional cost information. Perform on‑site reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as required, coordinating with account reconciliations performed by the Shared Services team. Complete the annual business plan by collecting data, analyzing, and preparing required budget worksheets and reports. Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts. Provide statistical and financial information and analysis to the General Manager, Regional Controller, Plant Manager, and department superintendents. Maintain the divisional fixed asset ledger, including capital spares. Coordinate audit file preparation and requirements of internal and external auditors. Support and explore innovative ideas that further Tolko’s strategic plan. Benefits You’ll take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members. You will be eligible to participate in Tolko’s bonus program.
