About the Role The Customer Assistance group (formerly Canadian Collections & Recovery) is a Centre of Excellence responsible for the collection and recovery efforts for all retail products in Canada. Together, we build Customer Loyalty by helping our Customers solve their financial problems. Responsibilities Vendor Management Group – an integral part of the Specialized Customer Assistance team within Customer Assistance is responsible for maximizing the collection and recovery of Canadian credit products by creating customer‑centric solutions, leveraging external vendors to support our business goals and ensure relationships are continuously optimized and providing strategic value. Manage strategic vendor relationships that span across different services areas, are significant in scope, varying in complexity and criticality. Facilitate the management of enterprise vendor(s) and third‑party risk management assessments. Ensure risk assessment processes are well coordinated and effectively identify appropriate levels of third‑party risk. Manage vendor relationships to meet the business' strategic goals, reconciling competing priorities and evolving requirements. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure prompt and thorough resolution or escalation of issues. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal TD colleagues and vendors. Provide advice and guidance to business partners regarding VM best practices. Represent the business needs in contract negotiations and vendor management governance meetings. Apply organizational change‑management principles to manage stakeholder and vendor expectations. Engage business partners to ensure active participation in governance and oversight. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of market and industry developments. Lead the implementation of action/remediation plans to address performance, risk, or governance issues. Job Requirements Prior vendor management experience or equivalent. Understanding of Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Service Level Agreements. Experience communicating with senior executives at TD and vendor organizations. Ability to navigate the organization to effectively get things done. Strong knowledge of the Vendor Management function with a proven track record of driving benefits. Skill at absorbing steady streams of information and synthesizing key insights. Proficient knowledge of Vendor Management and/or Third‑Party Risk Management (TPRM) principles. Effective influencer, partner, and collaborator across different teams. Thought leader and strategic thinker with a future‑focused mindset. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑faced environment with minimum supervision. Effective and confident negotiation ability with vendors. Results oriented with excellent analytical skills to identify cost savings and process improvements. Comfortable working in ambiguous and changing circumstances. Business acumen to identify opportunities and develop commercially beneficial relationships.
