Job Opportunity in NunavutAre you seeking an opportunity to work in remote picturesque environments? Join us at MATRIX as we are looking for Heavy Duty Mechanics with significant Mobile Crane experience for our site located in Nunavut.
Job RequirementsMATRIX is looking for experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics / Mobile Crane Mechanics who are team-oriented, adaptable, highly motivated, and detail-oriented. Your role will be crucial at our remote camps, supporting the team and ensuring proper maintenance and servicing of all equipment. This position reports to the Team Lead and/or Camp Manager. CAT equipment experience is required, with proficiency in CAT ET and SIS Systems. Arctic experience would be an asset.
Responsibilities- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures.
- Correct equipment deficiencies by performing various maintenance tasks.
- Verify vehicle performance, oversee vehicle appearance, and maintain vehicle records.
- Keep shop equipment operating, ensure work environment meets safety practices, and report unsafe conditions.
- Facilitate and/or participate in daily toolbox meetings.
Journey-Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Interprovincial Red Seal Certification, Mobile Crane certification or experience, minimum 3-5 years mining equipment care and maintenance experience, and previous experience working in a remote camp setting.
What We OfferCompetitive Wages & Paid travel days, fly-in/fly-out 3/3 rotations, paid flights, hotels, baggage and meal per diems, onsite tools provided, benefits, travel arrangements made and paid for by MATRIX, 3-week on/3-week off rotation, paid travel days, and a salary range of $700/day - $800/day depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
