This is a newly created position designed to support organizational growth, internal transformation, and the rebuild of a high‑performing accounting function. The company is on a fast‑paced journey to scale significantly over the coming years, making this an ideal role for someone energized by change, ownership, and impact. You’ll partner closely with the VP, Corporate Controller and be instrumental in shaping the future of the finance function, from systems to team structure and everything in between. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of 5 (Senior Accountant, Manager, Financial Analysts) Oversee full‑cycle accounting operations including GL, financial reporting, and close processes Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting under ASPE Drive improvements in process efficiency, scalability, and accuracy Support system and automation initiatives alongside IT and finance leadership Lead or contribute to financial integration efforts related to M&A Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting best practices Collaborate with other finance functions (FP&A, tax, treasury) to align goals Play a central role in change management initiatives: process redesign, role clarity, and policy updates Act as a culture builder and trusted advisor within the finance organization Qualifications Must‑Haves CPA designation 10+ years of progressive accounting experience 5+ years in a leadership role Strong command of ASPE and Canadian financial reporting standards Proven success driving process optimization and leading teams through change Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills Experience working in mid‑to‑large organizations, ideally with multiple entities Assets Experience supporting M&A, financial due diligence, or integration Formal training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies Hands‑on experience with financial systems implementations or automation tools Who You Are You are a strategic, collaborative leader who thrives in high‑growth, fast‑moving environments.
