Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, the Manager will be responsible for accounting, reporting, and analysis of complex accounting situations within the NPKC Business Unit— including hedging, OCI, pension accounting, and joint‑venture accounting processes. The position requires cross‑departmental and cross‑business‑unit interaction and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. What You’ll Do Manage complex accounting areas such as natural gas, FX and interest‑rate hedge accounting, OCI accounting, pension accounting, and accounting for M&A and tax step‑plans. Perform quarterly review of embedded derivatives process and contract analysis. Oversee joint‑venture accounting processes, including monthly journal entry review, financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and timely communication with the Board of Directors. Ensure timely and accurate financial close processes and reporting, including variance analysis and balance‑sheet reconciliations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on projects and participate in working committees as required. Maintain compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Lead and manage a small team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Prepare and review other month‑end close activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and auditors. Identify process efficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives. Manage additional ad‑hoc requests as needed. What You’ll Bring Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA). Eight years of relevant experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong analytical skills to assess accounting implications of complex transactions and provide clear guidance. Excellent time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines. Detail‑oriented with a broad conceptual understanding of accounting and materiality in a multifaceted business environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team and interact with all levels of the organization. Automation and efficiency mindset. Experience using SAP, Oracle, and BPC consolidation system is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with HANA is an asset.
