We are a destination for home healthcare products with a registered nurse and home healthcare consultants on staff.We are currently seeking our next team member: Clinical Pharmacist.Your clinical community pharmacist duties will include but are not limited to:Working collaboratively with patients’ physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure positive drug therapy outcomesConducting health screeningEngaging in community outreach programs,Conducting in-pharmacy immunization clinicsPerforming medication reviews and patient care plans as per the provincial standardsApplying the full scope of practice as a clinical pharmacist in AlbertaPatient counseling on the selection and use of non-prescription medicationAdministering vaccinations, medications for injection – subcutaneous, intramuscularEnsuring accurate pharmacotherapySupervising and consulting with registered technicians compounding prescribed pharmaceutical products for both human and veterinary patientsAdvising patients and health care professionals on the indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage of medicationsMaintaining medication profiles of patients including patient discussions, follow-ups, and discussions with other healthcare practitionersSupervising the proper preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals, and other drugs and pharmaceuticalsRequirements:Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of PharmacyStrong sense of professionalismOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalEnglish language fluencyFluency in any other language is a definite assetStrong problem-solving skillsSuperior patient and physician relation skillsInjection CertificationAdvanced Prescribing Accreditation (APA) is preferred but will support the applicant’s pursuit of APAExcellent leadership and performance management skills are an assetInterest in custom compounding is required, experience in compounding a definite asset but not a requirement for employmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent (Libre Office, Open Office, etc.)Working experience with Kroll Pharmacy dispensing software is an assetInterest in precepting students – from both Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician programsMotivated to continue learning and expanding skillsCompensationCompetitive compensation packageHealth and Dental benefitsLife and Disability InsuranceProfessional license feeMalpractice InsurancePositive work-life balance: no evenings, no Sundays or holidaysIn-Pharmacy purchase discountsCE allowance for course feesFree ParkingAbout Stafford Pharmacy & Home HealthcareStafford Pharmacy & Home Healthcare is an independently owned and managed community pharmacy, established in 1985 by the current ownerProvide pharmacy products and services as well as a home healthcare, and medical/surgical departmentSpecializing in custom compounding for both human and veterinary (companion animals) patientsCompounding services include both non-sterile and sterile preparationsPharmacists are encouraged and supported to practice to their full scope of practiceFocus is on the patient as a result of a collaborative approach to careWe are a teaching organization, taking both pharmacy and pharmacy technician students for practicums and internshipsOperating under the PharmaChoice Retail bannerStaff includes registered nurse, homecare consultants, registered technicians, pharmacy assistant, sales associates, and administrative staffAbout PharmaChoice – Independent Pharmacy BannerAt PharmaChoice, we see the pharmacist’s role as that of a recognized community leader, whose commitment to their patients makes them an important member of their patient’s healthcare team.
