Director, Asset Management and Project Delivery

Avenue Living Asset Management is dedicated to sourcing, analyzing, and strategizing long-term investments. Our unique approach has led to rapid growth across North America now representing one of Canada’s largest alternative asset managers. Since 2006, we have acquired over $6 billion in assets under management across a variety of sectors throughout Canada and the USA. Our various funds include assets in multifamily residential, self-storage, commercial, as well as agricultural land.
The Director, IT Field Operations will oversee the design, implementation and support of the IT/OT systems and telecommunications for our field operations across our two business lines, Avenue Living Communities and Mini Mall Storage Properties.
- Design, plan, implement and support all IT equipment and services standards for large portfolio of field locations in US and Canada.
- Manage the design, planning, implementation and support of multiple telecommunications ISP solutions in US and Canada, network, gating solutions, and front office services for both storage and residential business operations.
- Select and manage national vendor pool to augment and deliver all services along with internal SMEs.
- Analyze and determine service priorities, plan daily travel schedule, investigate, troubleshoot and resolve system/hardware/software problems.
- Ensure technicians are properly trained and equipped to perform field support safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with T1 Service Desk and IT Field Operations team to resolve escalated issues for internal teams and executives in the field.
- Prepare and deliver service performance metrics to Executive stakeholders by examining work demand/delivery, new technology solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques for processes to improve business field operations.
- Develop and oversee standardized services by analyzing requirements, coordinating with Asset Coordinator for procurement, planning and management of vendor installations or repairs and performing planning, testing, execution, and acceptance tests for new retail and residential startups.
- Provide input and manage capital and operating budgets for field assets and services including evergreen program to reduce technical debt.
- Develop or implement industry best practices methods, guidelines, policies and technical systems design documentation to facilitate efficient service delivery.
- Partner with third-party vendors to maintain operations for large network, internet, surveillance cameras and gates solutions for both storage and residential business lines.
- Provide on-call escalation, based on IT team schedule.
- Various other IT related duties such as special projects, technology upgrades or new deployments.
- Travel (20% of time) to sites in CAD and US.
- 15 + years' direct field operations leadership, design and support.
- Extensive hands on experience and knowledge in the design of current and future programs of maintenance and project work for a large, integrated IT/OT field operations for two business lines.
