We support the University’s mission by assisting students, staff and faculty through a variety of departments, including: Admissions, Recruitment and Transfer Credit, the Office of the Registrar (Awards, Academic Scheduling & Curriculum, Records, Registration and Financial Aid), Student Success and Learning (Academic Advising, Student Community Standards, Student Experience, Student Learning Services), Access and Inclusion Services, Career Services, Wellness Services, Cougars Athletics and Recreation, the Iniskim Centre, International Education, Residence Services, Student Systems and Student Communications. About The Role Admissions and Recruitment Specialists advise prospective students on their program selection and admission to all undergraduate programs and non-credential undergraduate-level offerings. They play a key role in the University’s achievement of enrolment targets and they are accountable for conveying the benefits of a Mount Royal education to the public and generating inquiries/applications. Reporting to the Coordinator, Student Recruitment, this position requires networking with university staff and faculty to keep abreast of programs and services and to act as an advocate for students throughout the admission process at Mount Royal. The Specialist works with high school counselors, career practitioners and other representatives within school systems and the community to advance educational partnerships and to communicate accurate and timely information about Mount Royal programs and services. Regular activities include public presentations, workshops, individual consultations, assessments and referrals. Travel and evening work will be required at certain times of the year, and some weekend work may be required. This position is a Full-Time, Limited term role, working 35 hours per week, ending October 30, 2026. Responsibilities Manage a student recruitment territory by establishing contacts within that area, arranging for high school and community interactions, and tracking the interest of prospective students. Meet with students on an appointment basis and correspond with prospective students via email and phone inquiries. Provide accurate and timely information about the University, its programs, admission requirements, services and facilities in a friendly and professional manner to prospective students. Participate in student recruitment activities, including making presentations to groups of prospective students in high schools and community settings, delivering information sessions and conducting campus tours. Collaborate with others to clarify admissions policy/procedure, identify exceptions as appropriate and to provide funding information and options to prospective students. Qualifications Bachelor degree or equivalent combined with 2 - 3 years of relevant experience Ability to travel (extensively during peak periods) Ability to work independently and in a team environment (evening and weekend work required) Excellent communication skills Excellent organizational ability and time management Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while exercising patience and tact Strong interest in technology Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (must add business insurance as a condition of employment) Salary: $59,386.60 - $75,147.80 per annum Closing Date: November 19, 2025 A cover letter and resume should be submitted in one .pdf document.
