It focuses on peer‑to‑peer learning and student leadership, empowering students to work collaboratively with service areas and other students to grow holistically as individuals. The Students portfolio encompasses Student Experience & Success, Enrollment Management, International Education, and Planning & Operations, delivering support and services closely linked to teaching and learning outcomes across academic departments. We support the University’s mission through multiple departments, including Admissions, Recruitment and Transfer Credit, the Office of the Registrar, Student Success and Learning, Access and Inclusion Services, Career Services, Wellness Services, Cougars Athletics and Recreation, the Iniskim Centre, International Education, Residence Services, Student Systems and Communications. About The Role Admissions and Recruitment Specialists advise prospective students on program selection and admission to all undergraduate programs and non‑credential undergraduate‑level offerings. They play a key role in achieving enrollment targets and convey the benefits of a Mount Royal education, generating inquiries and applications. Reporting to the Coordinator, Student Recruitment, the specialist networks with university staff and faculty, updates programs and services, and advocates for students throughout the admission process. The role involves working with high school counselors, career practitioners, and other representatives within school systems and the community. Regular activities include public presentations, workshops, individual consultations, assessments and referrals. Travel, evening, and occasional weekend work are required at times of the year. Responsibilities Manage a student recruitment territory by establishing contacts, arranging high school and community interactions, and tracking prospective student interest. Meet with students on an appointment basis and correspond via email and phone inquiries. Provide accurate and timely information about the University, its programs, admission requirements, services and facilities in a friendly and professional manner. Participate in recruitment activities, including presentations to groups in high schools and community settings, delivering information sessions, and conducting campus tours. Collaborate with others to clarify admissions policy and procedure, identify exceptions, and provide funding information and options to prospective students. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined with 2–3 years of relevant experience. Ability to travel extensively during peak periods. Ability to work independently and in a team, including evenings and weekend work. Excellent communication skills. Excellent organizational ability and time management. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while exercising patience and tact. Strong interest in technology. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (business insurance is required).
