The Store Manager ensures consistent profitability of the store by implementing national and regional standards in sales, customer service, merchandising, marketing, public relations, store staff training, reclamation and product donation flow, transportation, and processing of in-store donations. As Thrift Store Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the store while building a collaborative and positive workplace culture, developing long-term relationships with guests, donors, and the local community, and providing leadership in all areas of the store.

Hours:
  • 40 per week
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Completion of College Diploma
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of retail experience required
Skills and Capabilities:
  • Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities
  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • The ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate)
  • Possesses the personal qualities and attitudes that respect and maintain the spirit, dignity, and individuality of the donors, customers, and Mission Partners
  • Able to work in a consultative, diplomatic, and tactful manner
  • Able to work cooperatively and effectively with staff, donors, and the public
