Position : Payroll Specialist Job Type : Permanent, Full-time (35 hours / week) Industry : Manufacturing – Mid-sized company Location : Montreal (Hybrid – 3 days remote per week) Salary : $75,000 to $90,000, based on experience Software : UKG (an asset) Are you a meticulous and autonomous Payroll Specialist looking for a dynamic and people-first environment? A well-established mid-sized manufacturing company based in Montreal is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage a payroll of 400 employees across Canada (multi-province) and the United States, within a multi-union environment. Advantages Competitive salary between $75,000 and $90,000, based on experience Hybrid work model: 3 remote days per week Comprehensive group insurance plan (medical, dental, disability, life) 4 weeks of vacation starting from day one Flexible hours promoting work-life balance Group RRSP with employer contribution Modern office space and free parking A stable, supportive, and collaborative team in a respectful, engaging work environment Responsibilities Process and oversee bi-weekly full‑cycle payroll for 400 employees (Canada + US) Handle both unionized and non-unionized payroll, in line with multiple collective agreements Manage government remittances, journal entries, and year‑end reconciliations Prepare year‑end tax documents (T4, RL‑1, W‑2, etc.) Work closely with the HR and accounting teams Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation Qualifications Strong experience in multi‑province and U.S. payroll (required) Excellent command of year‑end processes and related compliance requirements Solid understanding of collective agreements and manufacturing environments Experience with UKG (strong asset) Highly detail‑oriented, discreet, and self‑motivated Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) Summary Did you recognize yourself in this position?
