Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of the province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment, and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures, and work standards.

Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Competencies Intermediate - Interpersonal skills Intermediate - Listening skills Basic - Computer skills Intermediate - Communication skills Knowledge and Abilities Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Ability to exhibit situational Awareness Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Ability to maintain a positive attitude and pleasant manner. Ability to function effectively in periods of high stress/emergent situations Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Heavy lifting and often extreme physical exertion will be required Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
