Director, Strategy & Development - Western U.S./Remote SiteOne Landscape Supply is the largest national distributor of landscaping products across the United States and Canada. Position Overview Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development, the Director of Strategy and Development will work with senior field leaders to support SiteOne’s strategic planning and execution. The Director will determine tactics to advance and define strategy, support key organic growth initiatives, and manage all aspects of inorganic growth (partnership development, business investment, mergers, and acquisitions). What You’ll Do Partner with leadership to identify, select, and execute SiteOne’s M&A strategy. Develop deep relationships with leadership and represent the business externally to potential partners, vendors, or investment targets. Lead acquisition-related financial analysis, coordinate due diligence, participate in negotiations, oversee the legal agreement process, and coordinate post‑acquisition integration. Assist in the strategic planning process and special projects, including market research, operations improvement, and overall company efficiency. Assist the Strategy and Development team in completing bolt‑on acquisitions, including due diligence, analysis, valuation, business proposal writing, and negotiations. Collaborate with regional operations and development leaders to develop and review proposals for management for fund allocation. Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring assigned projects, preparing records of expenditures, research findings, and progress reports, and updating management on current status. Support best‑practice efforts across the organization to improve processes, install new technology, and improve branch operations where applicable. Location Candidates should live in Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones. Skills We Are Seeking A Master’s degree or equivalent, or 4–10 years of related experience. 4–8 years of business experience in business development, consulting, operations management, strategic planning, or financial planning. 4–8 years of experience with financial concepts, valuation, and financial modeling. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; present information effectively to senior management. Background in management and/or operations is a plus. Operations‑oriented, with ambition for a senior operating management position. Experience working in a “project” type environment and closely with senior business unit management to develop and execute strategy. Career experience in a manufacturing/distribution business or consulting firm focused on manufacturing/distribution is desired. Desired Soft Skills Strong financial skills.
