Senior Localization Quality and Automation Specialist (Remote in Canada) Join our dynamic Localization team to drive the next generation of quality and efficiency in our global content delivery. You will be the crucial link between our Machine Translation (MT) capabilities and the final customer experience. Your mission is to design, implement, and manage the quality assurance framework that ensures our localized content is top‑tier, while simultaneously streamlining our workflow through cutting‑edge automation and tooling. Responsibilities Design and implement the quality framework: define, select, and manage the right suite of quality tools (automated QA checks, linguistic sign‑off workflows, error categorization) to measure and ensure the linguistic quality of all localized assets. Establish key metrics: identify and implement industry‑standard metrics (DQF, MQM, BLEU, TER, etc.) to objectively measure the output quality of our MT models. Drive process automation: analyze the current localization workflow to identify bottlenecks, then select or build custom tools and scripts to automate repetitive tasks, focusing on QA, handoffs, and feedback loops. Bridge technology and linguistics: act as the primary liaison between the Localization team and the Machine Learning teams to translate linguistic quality data into technical feedback, helping technical teams understand specific error patterns to continuously train and improve MT models. Data analysis and reporting: regularly analyze quality data, generate reports, and present actionable insights to stakeholders on the performance of our localization processes and MT engines. Tool management: evaluate the existing localization tool stack (CAT tools, TMS, QA checkers) for potential integration with new technologies. About You – Essentials 14+ years of general experience in the field with at least 5+ years in Localization Engineering, Quality Assurance, Tool Management, or a similar data‑driven role within the industry. Linguistic background: strong understanding of linguistic quality principles, error typology, and industry‑standard localization metrics (MQM, DQF, etc.). Technical proficiency: proven experience in selecting, integrating, or developing tools for localization process automation (scripting, API integration, regex). Machine Translation (MT): familiarity with MT concepts, post‑editing workflows, and methods for assessing MT quality. Data skills: proficiency in analyzing large datasets and presenting data‑driven recommendations. Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to non‑technical audiences and vice‑versa. Not a Must, But a Plus Familiarity with a major Translation Management System (TMS) and CAT tools. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation. A background in computational linguistics or data science.
