About this opportunity:
The Cost Control Advisor is responsible for providing program level cost control for Upstream Oilsands. The Cost Control and Finance team steward the operating cost accruals, forecasts, long-range plans and analysis for the Lloydminster Upstream assets. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture accurate cost data and provide detailed monthly cost estimates and forecasts

Work Environment:
This position is located in Lloydminster or Calgary and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

What you'll do:
Develop and monitor cost tracking, control protocols, systems, and workflow processes

Develop yearly/multi-year long range maintenance plans and annual budgeting exercises

Define and track key performance indicators related to scope control, cost management and evaluate project performance against established benchmarks

Monitor and analyze cost variances, providing timely reports and recommendations to optimize driver budget management

Manage monthly cost reports, spend profiles, change management, KPIs, estimates/accruals and other related deliverables

Generate regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, value capture, challenges, and recommended corrective actions

Quantify risks and opportunities and support development of mitigation plans as required with key team members

Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada

5+ years of experience within cost control or financial analysis

A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Managerial Accounting or Finance
