ONEX River is a proudly 100% Indigenous-owned construction company rooted in Sturgeon County. As a general contractor, with multiple construction services like Structural, Mechanical Construction, Scaffolding and Electrical, we bring hands-on expertise across a wide range of construction services, including assembly, installation, and specialized solutions. Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Controller to join ONEX River Fabrication Shop. This role will be responsible for controlling the project cost; this includes planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting the project's budget. Evaluating project and conducting cost analysis.

Other responsibilities include:

1. Develop and implement project cost control strategies and methods.
2. Provide project management support for the development of the detailed work plan, coding, and work breakdown structure (WBS).
3. Carry out budgetary planning, and cost monitoring, control and closing.
4. Ability to create detailed cost reports and forecasts.
5. Communicate the budget to the project team, monitor, analyze and communicate discrepancies and propose corrective measures.
6. Ensure follow-up with the management team to ensure compliance with the approved budget.
7. Communicate, collaborate, and ensure follow-up with the Finance team.
8. Control and post project-related invoices and follow up on approval and payment thereof.
9. Work with the project team (and contract coordinators) on contract budgets, progress payments, invoicing process, contract amendments and closing.
10. Analyze and control cost trends, prepare forecasts and reports on trends, and monitor cost and budget forecasts.
11. Prepare the project cash flow curve and ensure regular update thereof.
12. Prepare frequent cost control and project progress reports, namely cost variance analysis reports, change logs, and dashboards, based on established standardized criteria in terms of content and presentation (budgets, commitments, variances, performances), and according to the approved coding structure.
13. Mentor the cost control team.
14. Identify, evaluate, and communicate financial risks to the project manager.

Our Ideal Candidate

1. Degree or Diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience.
2. 10+ years of proven experience in project controls within an engineering/construction, oil & gas environment.
3. Proficiency in document control software and systems (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft office, SAP)
4. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
