Prairieview Surgical Centre is Hiring a Registered Nurse PACU Supervisor

About the role:The PACU Supervisor manages the Pre and Post-operative areas, ensuring efficient patient care and resource utilization. This role involves supervising staff, overseeing scheduling, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and collaborating with medical teams. The supervisor also supports staff development and participates in regular evaluations to maintain high-quality care.

What You’ll Do:
  • Supervise and mentor PACU staff, fostering collaboration, conducting evaluations, and managing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure efficient resource utilization, organize equipment repairs and management of medication ordering.
  • Review PACU schedules, ensure proper staffing, and provide direct patient care when needed.
  • Monitor compliance with facility policies and accreditation standards, addressing quality and safety concerns promptly.
  • Support orientation, staff training, education, and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN), in good standing with the provincial regulatory body/college of nurses.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Critical Care/Post Anesthetic Care Unit Preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • General computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
