Specialist Product Security Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Product Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Specialist Product Security Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the security and resilience of our products. Your expertise in implementing and managing Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), penetration testing, and familiarity with OWASP Top 10 will be instrumental in safeguarding our products against evolving threats.
Responsibilities:
- Lead in implementing SSDLC, SAST, SCA, penetration testing, and addressing OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations, to integrate robust security measures into the product development lifecycle. Develop and implement comprehensive SSDLC processes, incorporating threat modeling, secure coding guidelines, and secure design principles.
- Oversee and conduct SAST activities to proactively identify potential vulnerabilities and code flaws during the development process.
- Establish and manage a robust SCA program to identify and mitigate risks associated with third-party software components and libraries.
- Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and address security weaknesses in our products.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, attack vectors, and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, ensuring our products are designed and tested to withstand potential threats.
- Collaborate with development teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities, working closely to integrate appropriate security controls.
- Provide guidance and support to product teams during incident response and security investigations, leveraging your expertise in penetration testing and vulnerability management.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and education by developing and delivering training programs and resources on secure coding practices, penetration testing, and addressing OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Evaluate and select suitable tools, technologies, and services to enhance the effectiveness of SSDLC, SAST, SCA, and penetration testing capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Proven experience in product security engineering, with a strong emphasis on implementing SSDLC, SAST, SCA, penetration testing, and addressing OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- In-depth understanding of secure software development practices, secure design principles, and secure coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience with SAST tools like Checkmarx, Veracode, or Fortify, and SCA tools such as Black Duck or Sonatype. Familiarity with penetration testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud computing platforms.
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, OSCP, or GPEN are highly desirable.
