Responsibilities:

  1. Identify current and prospective staffing requirements
  2. Prepare and post notices and advertisements
  3. Collect and screen applicants
  4. Advise job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment
  5. Review candidate inventories
  6. Contact potential applicants to arrange interviews
  7. Recruit graduates of colleges, universities and other educational institutions
  8. Co-ordinate and participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates
  9. Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers
  10. Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures
  11. Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  12. Negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes and co-ordinate termination of employment process
  13. Determine eligibility to entitlements and arrange staff training
  14. Provide information or services such as employee assistance, counseling and recognition programs
  15. Supervise personnel clerks performing filing, typing and record-keeping duties
  16. Recruit and hire staff
  17. Staff recruitment and selection
  18. Prepare payroll
  19. Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
  20. Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  21. Maintain payroll
  22. Maintain filing system
  23. Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans
  24. Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries
  25. Oversee payroll administration
  26. Modify Web pages, applets and scripts
  27. Create and optimize content for Website using a variety of graphics, database, animation and other software
  28. Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment and medical insurance
  29. Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements
  30. Prepare T4 statements and other statements
  31. Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees
