Job Title: Project Lead, Community Engagement

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

Reports To: Supervisor, Community Engagement


Primary Purpose

The Project Lead manages the entire life cycle of a project from development to operations. Develops project plan, coordinates the activities of the project team, identifies appropriate resources needed and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of the project within the Community Engagement Department.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Prepares project plans with detailed reports.
  • Recruits & volunteer training sessions.
  • Completes project status reports on a regular basis and posts reports at the end of each event
  • Manages expectations and fosters excellent communication in a collaborative environment
  • Works with the project and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
  • Creates new leads with external stakeholders and reports to the Supervisor on a bi-weekly basis on new leads and initiatives.
  • Establishes a sustainable mechanism for the collection of any requirements and data; engages with departments to ensure that outcomes will meet their needs
  • Coordinates with departments on initiatives and events.
  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project leadership, vendors and key clients.
  • Support the Community Engagement Supervisor in project delivery through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, close-out activities and others.
  • Develop, track and update cost forecasts; maintain and update project cost reports; develop and update project schedules; support procurement and maintain document management systems through all phases of the project.
  • With guidance, assist with the preparation and distribution of high-quality, accurate and timely documents such as agendas, reports, minutes, communication logs, change management, and other required documentation.
  • Helps lead volunteer training and supports staff in projects.
  • Support with administrative duties.


Position Requirements

Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, technical writing, presentation, and other software, including MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to organize reports and presentations.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field discipline with 1-2 years of related experience.
